Our Philosophy

Sustainable Tourism That Makes a Difference

At Lemur Baobab Madagascar Tours, we are committed to sustainable tourism that benefits travelers and visitors contributing in preserving nature. By working directly with local communities, we listen to their needs and expectations from visitors, ensuring their voices are at the heart of every project we design. Our initiatives offer travelers an authentic immersion into daily life, while highlighting the culture, traditions, and skills of the people we partner with.

One of our flagship initiatives is the Tsinjo Olo Project, a women-led, community-based program in Nosy Be. This project trains talented women to create Malagasy handicrafts and transform recycled materials into beautiful products. It supports marginalized women from the Jabala village community, giving them the skills, confidence, and independence to build sustainable livelihoods.

1Tsinjo Olo Project

The community of women artisans in Nosy Be develops traditional skills through the creation of unique jewelry, textiles, and decorative items. Often limited in economic opportunities, these women find in this workshop a source of autonomy and stable income. By visiting or supporting this project, you contribute directly to the purchase of materials and tools, allowing artisans to continue producing authentic works while strengthening their financial independence. Your support also helps preserve local cultural heritage and encourages female entrepreneurship in the region.

2Environmental Education Program for Children

Children in villages near Madagascar's national parks benefit from an educational program raising awareness about lemurs and the island's unique biodiversity. Through interactive workshops and field excursions, young participants learn the importance of conservation and develop ecological awareness from an early age. By supporting or donating to this project, you fund educational materials, activities, and excursions, contributing to a future generation committed to environmental protection and species preservation.

3Local Reforestation Project

In several degraded areas of Madagascar, local communities mobilize to plant endemic trees and restore forests. This project not only combats deforestation but also protects the natural habitats of lemurs and other unique species. By supporting this initiative, you contribute to the purchase of seedlings and tools, as well as compensate local volunteers involved in planting. Your participation helps create a lasting environmental impact while strengthening community engagement in natural heritage conservation.

4Training and Support for Local Tour Guides

Young tourist guides in Nosy Be and Ranomafana receive specialized training to improve language skills, safety, and responsible tourism practices. These trainings enable them to offer richer, professional experiences to visitors while creating sustainable jobs within their communities. Supporting this project helps finance training programs, educational materials, and necessary equipment, strengthening professional autonomy and enhancing the region's tourism appeal.

5Aid Fund for Disadvantaged Families

Some families living in Madagascar's tourist regions struggle to access education, healthcare, and sufficient food. This project provides direct support through school, food, and medical kits. By donating, you help improve living conditions for these families, enabling children to continue their education and parents to access essential resources. This support strengthens community resilience and provides a more stable and autonomous future.
